Nicholas Hatt is a native of Chester, Nova Scotia and holds degrees from the University of King’s College and the Atlantic School of Theology. His graduate work explored the concept of oikonomia within patristic thought, and its limits for community life and ecumenical dialogue. He is currently pursuing further graduate work in Classics at Dalhousie University.

A former program development director with YMCA Canada, he has also lived in Belize, Central America where he served as chaplain to three Anglican schools.

Mr Hatt was the don of Middle Bay from 2005-2008, until his appointment as Dean of Residence. As a former student of King’s College, in both the Foundation Year and Contemporary Studies Programmes, he has a deep interest in how campus life at King’s is formed by the College’s academic pursuits and forms the basis for its communal life.
