It is sometimes necessary for a student to leave residence during the academic year. In order to facilitate your departure from residence, there are a few steps to ensure a smooth transition.
Ensure that a Withdrawal Form is completed. This form is available from the Registrar’s Office. It will be necessary for you to meet with the Dean of Residence to approve the form. If you are a Foundation Year Programme student, you must also speak with the Registrar’s Office and the Associate Director of the Foundation Year Programme.
Empty and clean your fridge, clean your room and empty your garbage. Cleaning supplies are available through the front desk of Alexandra Hall. Ensure that all personal belongings are removed from your room. Any remaining items will be discarded.
Within 24 hours of your planned departure, you must have Facilities check your room using the Room Check List you filled out when you arrived. Call the front desk of Alexandra Hall to make an appointment. Facilities staff are available Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Visit the Students Accounts Office, located on the Second Floor in the King’s A&A building to settle your account. Student Accounts is open Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Return your academic gown and room key/swipe card to the front desk of Alexandra Hall before you leave. Otherwise, you will be charged for replacements.
If you are remaining a King’s student, be sure that the Registrar’s Office updates your local address on file.
Students living in residence are expected to remain in residence for the duration of the academic year. Any student who wishes to leave residence during this time will be held responsible for his or her residence fees for the full academic year, or until a replacement, acceptable to the College, is found.
