There’s an almost electric energy in the Quad, as the music plays and student frosh leaders greet you, the new students, at the entrance to the College to help you take your things to your new room. After you’ve moved in, there’s a barbecue for you, your family and friends, where you’ll meet the President, the Dean of Residence, the Registrar, and some members of the teaching faculty. The President and the Dean will meet with your parents, while you get together with your fellow first-year students. You’ll then head out for a week’s worth of frosh activities to help you get acquainted with your new home.
On Move-In Day, you’ll receive your room keys, academic gown and can pick up your King’s student ID card (also known as DalCard), or have your photo taken for it. You’ll also be able to purchase a Frosh Pack for the week from the King's Students' Union. Remember to bring a piece of government-issued photo ID with you. On the desk in your room, you’ll find a copy of the Residence Handbook, which contains all the information you need to know about living in residence. You’ll also find a room-check form, which you should complete and return to the Front Desk of Alexandra Hall as soon as possible after the school year ends, to ensure your damage deposit will be refunded.
