Dining Guidelines

In order to ensure that Sodexo and the University of King's continue to provide value priced offerings, there are some guidelines that must be adhered to by all diners.

  1. Knapsacks, bags, bottles and/or travelling coffee mugs are not allowed in the servery or seating areas.
  2. Unlimited meal choice is provided at all meals. To help reduce waste, only one portion will be served at a time and you are welcome to come back for more.
  3. Food and beverages are not permitted to leave the dining hall.
  4. Access to the dining hall is only permitted during designated meal hours.
  5. All diners must present their student ID, or have purchased a meal, to be allowed in the hall during the meal period.

Allergies & Prescribed Diets

Our meal programs provide accommodation for most of the common food allergies. If you have an allergy or dietary condition, we encourage you to contact us. Celine Beland will meet with you to discuss your specific requirements and develop a plan to provide you with the foods that you need (Medical Doctors notes are necessary).

Sick Trays

We hope that you stay well and healthy all year, but if the mid-winter blues have you stuck in bed, you don't have to go hungry. Ask your Don for a Sick Tray Request Form. A friend can bring the form and your meal card to the Dining Hall. We'll provide take-out containers so that your meal can be bought to your room. Tuck into a hot bowl of soup and you'll be back to class in no time.

Dining Hall Access

All resident students must have a student ID card to gain access to the dining hall. If you do not have a student ID card, one can be obtained from the Dalhousie Card Office (1443 Seymour St.).

If you have any dietary allergies, nutritional value concerns or religious restrictions, please contact our staff.
