Alumni Association

Incorporated in 1846 by an act of the Nova Scotia legislature, the University of King's College Alumni Association is the oldest in Canada, and has members throughout Canada, the United States and around the world.

Who are alumni?

King's has changed a great deal in its recent history so our alumni community is diverse demographically, geographically and in terms of interest. Despite this diversity, all of our Alumni have experienced the one consistency of King's - the strong sense of community it inspires intellectually and socially.

The Alumni Association has 8,000 members, 37.5% of whom graduated in the last 10 years, drawn from the following groups:

  • People who have received a degree, diploma or certificate;
  • Honorary graduates;
  • Persons who have been registered at the University for the equivalent of one year;
  • Part-time students who have completed five full-credit courses;
  • Persons who have lived in residence at the University during an academic year.

The association has a number of active branches in Canada and the United States.

What does the Association do?

The Association is focused on making connections between the University and the Alumni.

The Executive

The current Executive is very committed to increasing engagement among the Alumni population around the world. During the 2007/2008 year, the Executive has been engaged in a planning process to consider future directions and means of increasing participation.
